YOGA & MEDITATION
Read about the experience
It was in Rishikesh, at the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India where I completed my training as a qualified Holistic Akhanda Yoga Teacher under the amazing teachings of Himalayan Yoga Master Yogrishi Vishvketu (co founder of Akhanda Yoga) at Anand Prakash Ashram.
In this remote region of the world, a place that is overflowing with an abundance of highly charged energies - specifically in Rishikesh and Dharamshala (Mcleod Ganj), home of the Dalai Lama - I was able to really delve deep into the holistic teachings of traditional Himalayan Hatha yoga, as well as Buddhist and Tibetan Meditation.
Spiritual seekers, gurus, ancient cultures, mystery schools, Gods of the ancient ways, enlightened beings of love and light have all held their prominence in this sacred and enchanting part of the world. The Himalayas has always held a strong a place in my heart, a place where I feel the utmost contentment, simply being one with the energies and revelling in their beauty and breathing in the pure high vibrating air.
During the course of my yoga teacher training at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram, one aspect of my daily practice that I thoroughly enjoyed and found so beneficial was the practice of morning meditation at sunrise. Therefore, one of my wishes upon returning, was to create a space for people to be able to experience the typical Himalayan way of Meditation.
Currently, I am offering these wonderful and relaxing meditation classes at Das Yoga Cafe, in Berlin. In these meditation classes, I am really excited to bring the very easy techniques and exercises that I have learned to create a space for everyone where they can simply relax, go within and be. Through some simple and easy Pranayama (breath work techniques), Pratyahara (direction of the senses) and Dhyana (Meditation, or absorption) we will create a safe and centred space that will encourage us to be in the present moment.
Meditation is accessible to absolutely everyone from beginners to advance practitioners. The benefits are so great and I am really happy to be given this opportunity and also meet wonderful souls in the process.
Research has shown that simple meditation can reduce the impact of stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and provide many other healing benefits. With a slowing down of the breath and heart rate, one is able to more easily become centred and bring their attention to the present moment.
